Enterprise Imaging Accelerates With Visage 7 Upgrade

April 23, 2013

Industry leading viewer bolstered with clinical and technical enhancements

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 23, 2013 − Visage Imaging, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pro Medicus Ltd. (ASX: PME), announced today that they have released version 7.1.3 of the Visage® 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform. Visage 7’s amazingly fast, thin-client, server-side processing technology delivers enterprise diagnostic, clinical and mobile viewing solutions for healthcare institutions seeking to dramatically enhance the delivery of imaging services.

For more than a decade, PACS has helped bring imaging into the digital realm. However, the limitations of aging PACS infrastructure have increasingly restricted imaging from addressing the challenges and opportunities of today’s healthcare environment. Health systems, outpatient networks, radiology groups and teleradiology practices are embarking on transformative strategies to improve operations, image availability, interpretation quality, radiologist productivity and scalability. System-wide efficiencies are attainable through the deconstruction of legacy approaches, reinvented with the strength of a high-performance enterprise viewer, for radiology and other imaging disciplines, as the cornerstone of the strategy.

Incorporating 1,000+ enhancements and product fixes developed in the prior 12 months, 7.1.3 is an impressive reflection of Visage Imaging’s significant experience reinventing enterprise imaging at healthcare institutions across the globe. Some of the clinical and technical highlights of 7.1.3 include: synchronized, interactive ECG display for pre- and post-stress echocardiography; lesion tracking usability improvements; additional support of non-DICOM images; deeper integration with third-party workflow, VNA, and RIS systems; enterprise support for multi-patient IDs, enhanced native imaging QA, support for SQL Server 2012, as well as a multitude of features improving overall usability, robustness, viewer performance and supportability.

“Our customers have inspired us to innovate and we have responded,“ said Malte Westerhoff, PhD, Visage Imaging’s co-founder, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager, GmbH. “The velocity of Visage 7 development parallels the imaging transformation we see unfolding in healthcare. It’s a privilege to partner with customers as they execute growth strategies, as they reinvent how they operate, as they embark on workflows inconceivable with their old technology. Visage is re-defining what’s possible and that is truly exciting.”

In support of the Visage 7.1.3 rollout, Visage is pleased to announce the “Visage 7.1.3 Private Screening”, a tailored series of customer-focused web conferences. All Visage 7 customers will be provided an exclusive, one-on-one introduction and demonstration of Visage 7.1.3. Customers are encouraged to contact Visage at support@visageimaging.com, noting “Visage 7.1.3 Private Screening”, with their preferred date and time for their personalized web conference.
